WHAT
IS EAP?
The Employee Assistance Program
is a service designed to help employees who are experiencing personal
problems
that may affect their peace of mind or job performance. Guidance
and referral to pre-screened resources will assist in resolving
problems
quickly and effectively.
WHAT
KINDS OF PROBLEMS?
Family and marital difficulties,
substance abuse, grief, stress, emotional or behavioral disorders,
legal
and financial concerns are some of the typical problems employees can
address
through EAP.
WHY HAVE
AN EAP?
It makes good business sense
to offer help. Personal problems can take a heavy toll on people
and productivity. Employers want to take constructive action to
ensure
a healthy workforce and work environment.
HOW DOES
EAP WORK?
Participation in EAP is voluntary;
simply call a counselor to discuss your concern or to schedule an
appointment.
A supervisor may recommend contacting EAP if declining job performance
becomes an issue. In either case, EAP is a confidential service
and
no information about you or the nature of the problem can be disclosed
without your permission (except if required by law).
WHO MAY
USE THE EAP?
Any of our client company
employees and their immediate family members is eligible to use EAP
services.
WHAT
TYPES OF SERVICE?
When you contact EAP you can
expect:
· An
opportunity to speak confidentially with a licensed professional about
your personal concerns.
· Help
in assessing the nature of your difficulties and in the development of
an action plan for quick resolution.
· To
be provided with educational materials on relevant topics.
· A
referral to appropriate resources in the community, when needed.
· Follow-up
to monitor your progress and satisfaction with services.
WHAT
ABOUT COST?
Consultation with the EAP
staff is free of charge to employees and immediate family members of
our
client companies. This service is paid for by your employer
as part of your benefits package. Costs incurred by a referral to
outside therapy or other treatment may be covered by group
insurance.
EAP will assist in determining your coverage.
WHO
TO CONTACT?
You can reach a counselor
by calling (321) 723-8823 or toll-free at 1-877-723-8823. (Office
hours vary at some locations, so it is best to call first for an
appointment.)
